Cara Misiewicz, Executive Assistant, Membership Development & Services
Cara is originally from Ohio and has a BA dree from Ohio University and a MS degree from the University of Cincinnati. She assists with all aspects of membership and events, including the Annual Dinner, Blues by the Bay, Ship-Shape Showcase, Golf Tournament, Chamber Expo, and much more. She's the smiling face that will greet you at most networking events!
Carey Miller, Office Administrator
Carey is responsible for maintenance of all Chamber databases, the Chamber's websites, and its social media presence - Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. She also serves as the Assistant to the President, is the staff IT leader and manages the Travel with the Chamber Program. Carey is a Manatee County native and will soon celebrate her 17th year with the Chamber. And, if bacon is on the menu, Carey will be there!
Cheryl Richert, Controller of Finance
Cheryl performs all accounting functions for the Manatee Chamber and Chamber Foundation. She is also responsible for human resources management and organizes the United Way Campaign, Drug-Free Workplace resources and Adopt-a-Highway programs for the Chamber. Cheryl joined our staff in 2003. She grew up in Hawaii and loves the heat!
Dawn Plavak, Manager, Better Business Council (BBC)
Dawn works to strengthen public confidence in Manatee County area business through the promotion of the BBC’s high standards of business ethics. She provides referrals and reliability reports, as well as handles customer complaints through a formal process. Dawn also educates the public on smart business practices and warns against scams. Dawn attended Black Hawk Community College and studied Hospitality Management, but says she is really just a “Tourist” at heart, so spends most of her time visiting local attractions or going to events.
Diane Pluchino, Information Specialist
Diane offers a warm welcome, serves as receptionist, assists visitors, and maintains the lobby display of members’ promotional materials at the Chamber’s Lakewood Ranch office at the McClure Center. She also provides referral information to inquiring consumers and manages the Welcome Manatee! Program. Diane, and her family, have relocated to Lakewood Ranch from New Jersey. She had a 17+ year career at IBM and is enjoying her new role meeting and greeting the many visitors to Manatee County and the wonderful members of the Manatee County Chamber of Commerce. Diane enjoys cooking and watching high school football – especially her son! Go Ascenders!
Jean Farmer, Membership Development Representative
Jean works to increase membership in the Manatee Chamber by sharing the long list of benefits with local businesses. She serves as an ambassador to members, helping them become acclimated at the various networking functions. Jean also performs a number of ribbon cuttings for area businesses as they open or expand their operations. She is an accomplished artist with a studio in the Village of the Arts in downtown Bradenton.
Kim Hinkle, Information Specialist
Kim is the friendly face at the Manatee Chamber’s Lakewood Ranch Office at the McClure Center. She serves as receptionist and provides administrative support for both the Chamber and United Way, assists visitors, and maintains the lobby display of members’ promotional materials. She also provides referral information to inquiring consumers and manages the Welcome Manatee! program. Kim has Hospitality background of 25 years which has included working at Walt Disney World for 13 years. She moved to Lakewood Ranch 2 years ago and loves spending time with her family here and at Disney.
Kimberly Kramer, Program & Events Coordinator
Kimberly works closely with the Manatee Young Professionals (MYP) program as well as on a number of the member-focused events the Chamber offers, including Bagels & Benefits, Power Connection Lunches, special events and ribbon cuttings. A native of Manatee County, she graduated from Bayshore High before enlisting in the Air Force where she served for ten years. She has also used her talents as an Emergency Dispatcher, Systems Engineer, Quality Engineer, Technical Writer, Business Continuity Planner, and in Business Development.
Lisa Reeder, Executive Assistant, Public Policy & Small Business
Originally from Pennsylvania, Lisa started at the Chamber in 2000. She assists with the Chamber’s efforts in small business development, legislative initiatives, downtown redevelopment, transportation, tourism and green sustainable practices. She also coordinates the small business roundtables, seminars and VIP guest speaker events. When not supporting our local “home teams,” Lisa can be found cheering on her Philadelphia Eagles - and eating pretzels, one of her favorite foods.
Michele Slaughter, Creative Services Manager
Michele is responsible for the Current Magazine, brochures, programs, and general design work at the Chamber. You'll also see her at events, taking photos of our members and venues.
Reba Parrish, Information Specialist
Reba is that smiling face greeting you at the Manatee Chamber's Downtown Bradenton Office and serves as receptionist, assists visitors, and maintains the lobby display of members’ promotional materials. She also provides referral information to inquiring consumers. Reba joined the Chamber staff in 2004 and is a sixth generation Manatee County resident and an ‘original’ Parrish.
Tim Fenimore, Membership Development Representative

Tim works to increase membership in the Manatee Chamber by sharing the long list of benefits with local businesses. He serves as an ambassador to members, helping them become acclimated at the various networking functions. Tim also performs a number of ribbon cuttings for area businesses as they open or expand their operations. Tim hails from Indianapolis and is a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, which can be painful at times.
