REEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE  (UNEMPLOYMENT)

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) has resources for employees who have lost their jobs.

Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) provides assistance to individuals whose employment has been either lost or interrupted as a direct result of COVID-19 and those not ordinarily eligible for state Reemployment Assistance (including gig workers, self-employed or contract employees).  Numerous documents, listed below, are available to help guide you through the PUA process.

CareerSource Suncoast serves Manatee and Sarasota Counties and offers resources for job seekers and employers.

 

 

TAX INFORMATION
Visit the IRS  Coronavirus Tax Relief and Economic Impact Payments site for help for taxpayers, businesses and others affected by the coronavirus. This site has additional information on coronavirus tax relief including:

  • The Federal tax filing and payment deadline has been moved from April 15 to July 15.
  • CARES Act economic impact payment information including eligibility and receipt of payments.  (Economic Impact Payment: What you need to know)

ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE

Access 2-1-1 Human Services by phone, email, chat or text (just text your zip code to 898-211). Reaching out will get you connected to a multilingual 2-1-1 specialist in your area who can put you in touch with local organizations providing critical services.

The Season of Sharing Campaign helps individuals and families on the verge of homelessness and 2-1-1 is the starting point for this service.

The School District of Manatee County website has information on Free Grab ‘n Go meals for  students 18 years and younger (includes lunch and breakfast).

Manatee 311 provides a central contact point for citizens to report an issue, request a service, seek information/referrals, and direct complaints, compliments and suggestions regarding government service.

Manatee County’s Economic Development Department developed resource information for Manatee businesses and employees. The website includes a Recover Manatee guide, facts about COVID-19, information on the state and federal loan programs, employee resources, and more. Visit MyManatee.org/RecoverManatee.
