THE FOOD BANK OF MANATEE RESPONDS TO TEMPORARY FEDERAL FUNDING PAUSE IMPACTING SNAP BENEFITS
(Bradenton, FL – October 29, 2025) — A temporary pause in federal funding is impacting Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, effective Saturday, November 1, 2025, leaving many Manatee County families, children, and seniors without critical food assistance.
The Food Bank of Manatee will host an Emergency Drive-through Food Distribution* on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Dream Church located at 1820 53rd Ave. East, Bradenton, Florida, 34207, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Non-perishable food items will be provided free of charge.
“We are already seeing more people in need of emergency food support,” said Maribeth Phillips, President & CEO. “Many of our neighbors who were just getting by are now facing additional challenges with the loss of SNAP,” she added.
As the only food bank based in Manatee County, The Food Bank of Manatee is experiencing an increased demand of 50% from local pantries and partners as more residents turn to community resources for help. The Food Bank of Manatee provides food to a network of 95+ local partner agencies and directly supports families, children, and seniors across the county. With the current rise in need, community support is vital to ensure that no one in Manatee County goes hungry.
Community members can make an immediate impact by donating funds or organizing food drives to support The Food Bank of Manatee. All donations stay in Manatee County to assist Manatee County residents. To donate or learn more, visit http://www.MealsOnWheelsPLUS.org.
